Jeffrey Kottler is a professor of counseling at California State University, Fullerton. He is the author of over 75 books about psychological phenomena, many of which have been translated into a dozen languages. He first visited Nepal in order to teach health professionals about ways to utilize counseling skills in their work; instead of the teacher, he became the pupil, captured not only by the beauty of Nepal’s mountains and people, but also by the urgency to do something constructive to help the most neglected children.
Kiran Regmi is an obstetrician/gynecologist and researcher who also has training in anthropology, public health, and psychology. She is one of the few physicians working in remote areas of Nepal and has collaborated on research projects with Jeffrey to investigate ways to improve the health infra-structure. Kiran's direct contact with the most indigent children and women of rural Nepal has formed her into a health advocate for the rights of those who have been deprived of basic health care and education.
Digumber Piya is a philanthropist, community activist, and businessman in packaging, real estate, and tourism. He serves as a board member at Balkumari College, the maternity hospital in Chitwan, and is an administrator for Family Planning of Nepal in the Chitwan region. He serves as the Director of foundation operations in Nepal. |
